Around 85,000 species form the phylum, Mollusca composed mostly of snails, slugs, clams and squids. They are usually found in water whether it is fresh or salt. The phylum Mollusca covers 23% of all named marine organisms. They are highly diverse in size and in anatomical structure. The phylum also provides humans with a large food source.
